Success Stories: One of the most rewarding experiences as a Personal Trainer has been working with the kids at Smart Strength. Smart Strength is an after-school program for Jr. High students helping them learn to live a healthy and active lifestyle.
Hobbies: Golf, basketball and watching Food Network.
Personal Training Philosophy: I approach each client individually and assess their strengths, areas of imbalance and needs. From there, I formulate a program that will enable that person to achieve balance, strength and overall well-being.

Training background: Angela’s background in training started at a young age when she first entered organized sports. She played nearly every sport, ranging from basketball, gymnastics, and sailing but her focus was on track and field and cross country, which she competed competitively in for over ten years.
Angela was introduced to the weight room at age 13 where she trained for five years under nationally recognized NSCA High School Strength and Conditioning Professional of the Year (2008), in both strength and conditioning and track and field. Angela has also competed in numerous power lifting competitions and has an extensive background in Olympic lifting.
Hobbies: One of my favorite things to do is immerse myself in a new city or country and absorb as much of the culture and people as I can. I think a fresh landscape is healthy for the mind and spirit, and I am always open to a new perspective. I also enjoy confessing my deep dark secrets in a journal, climbing tall structures (although I’m deathly afraid of heights), and if you couldn’t guess, I love doing just about anything active. If it keeps my heart pumping, blood flowing, and my mind sharp then I’m probably down.
Success story: One of the most rewarding experiences I get from training is the point when my client has overcome their initial limitations. I love when a client first comes to me and says they notice a significant difference, whether it is in performance or activities of daily living. This tells me they have confidence in what they are doing and probably enjoy training just as much as I enjoy training them. From that point it is easy because we can have fun while maintaining that positive drive to their success.
Personal training philosophy: I treat every day as an opportunity to get one step closer to your goals. Every extra step counts, every healthy choice adds up, and it’s the little changes that turn into serious habits that become your outlook on life. I firmly believe that a positive attitude is the best foundation to success and commitment and hard work follow close behind. No one reaches their goals over night, and although day-to-day it may not seem like you are any closer to your goal, in the longer term, each day adds to the reason you are where you are. My goal is for each of my clients to find confidence and comfort in not only me as their trainer, but most of all in themselves. When all is said and done I want to give my clients the confidence to change their lives through the power of knowledge and long-term commitment.
Maximus has been a Personal Motivator for Next Level since 2005. He grew up in the gym since he was 12 weeks old. Some clients were a little nervous about him becoming a full grown Pitt Bull, but with the hard work of his owners and their strong belief in “Casear’s Way” Max is proving that with exercise, discipline, and proper socialization that the breed is one of the most loving and gentle of all dog breeds today.
Maximus’ hobbies include greeting all members of Next Level, pulling his owners on skates/ skate boards, chewing on bones, and laying in the sun while making pig noises.
Nala has been a Personal Motivator for Next Level since 2006. She was found at the Humane Society when she was around 6 months old, and ever since has been learning the ropes of growing up in a gym from her big brother Max. Members of Next Level will usually find her laying quietly under equipment, trying to stay out of the way, yet still be close at hand to motivate anyone to smile and squeeze out a few more reps.
Nala’s hobbies are running, running, and running. She loves to do work of any kind, and is eager to please her human owners.
Hero is the newest addition to the Next Level Motivational staff, coming aboard in November of 2012 from Crossroads Dog Rescue. Although he had a rough start as the runt of an abandoned liter found in Kansas City, he has developed into a beautiful part of our pack and provides strong motivation to all the clients of Next Level.
Hero loves to lay in the sun, chew on bones… did I mention he likes to lay around? Many of our clients think he holds a strong resemblance to the cartoon character, "Droopy" from the Looney Tunes. What do you think?
